To me, it doesn't matter what program you use. As long as members keep posting good topics and you guys keep putting good information out there. I would never change my membership because a forum changes its board software. My .03 cents worth

Anyway im 50/50 because i like IPB because im used to it but it doesnt matter what i think, If it would increase your activity (vb) id say 100% go with that because sometimes i want people to reply and all and the reputation thing is cool but i think you can get a mod for that for IPB, i could be wrong though. You know what would be cool, i dont know if you cna do this or not but it would be , that you have a vB forum and IPB same forum things but when ever someone posts in the vB forum it will post in the IPB forum and vice virsa i dont htink you can but that would be neat<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE<div class='quotemain'>I could go into more detail on any of this if you wish, just let me know. I actually feel as if we have lost some potential members due to our use of IPB. If you will notice, the majority of our members tend to prefer IPB over vB - which is not the case in most other forums I have ever visited. This suggests that we have a skewed population here at AdminFusion, which concerns me.
could you please ![]() <div class='quotetop'>QUOTE<div class='quotemain'>There are a few disadvantages of course. We have actually grown to like IPB and grown used to the features/navigation. The IPB ACP actually seems to be easier to use than vB because it is much more appealing - but both are just as powerful. Regardless, the appeal of the ACP doesn't affect the members. There is also the concern of losing interest of those who prefer IPB already here. Lastly, we will take a slight monetary hit, but hey, you gotta do what you gotta do.
I have been helping my friend with his vB forum and i cant stand the ACP and how to install the mods and everything its so confusing like IPB all you have to do is some few edits and an install thingy(sometimes only the installer) and on vB its just all weird i dont like it but im not going to be an admin so that doesnt matter does it? Well thats really it i guss I would prefer to use IPB but the rep thing sounds cool

Well, I'm just speculating when I say this, but I think that judging by the fact that we have more IPB fans than vB fans (which is not the case for the general population) means that there must be some vB fans out there who saw the forums here and for some reason I don't know why, didn't register. I dont know how else to explain the fact that we have more IPB fans than vB And there is no rep mod for IPB 2.1 yet....I'm sure there will be one in the near future, but it is kind of nice that it is an included feature with vB - no need to bother with a mod

Once we get all of the bugs sorted out, we'll make an announcement so you know when the forums are going to be down. It could be a while before we make the official switch. I would say a week max, but we will see. There will be a lot of testing to do, and we will obviously need to work on a new skin, replace mods, etc.
