You may want to try finding a private designer...That's what we did with our current design.

I prefer finding private work over public contests, because you're more likely to get what you're looking for that way. I do like the current skin here, but I also agree that we could use something fluid. Or, if not fluid, I also think it's time to consider 1024 the new standard - for a webmaster-centric site.

I think you should still have it as a choice though, i really like the AF blue design, I've been using it ever since it came out and haven't got bored of it..

I might change my mind though, depending on the quality of the new design, is it going to be a new design, or centered around what we already have?

I can understand him not wanting to keep more than one template updated. It's a pain in vBulletin to have more than one style.

Is there a way to make the themes dependant? So updating one would in turn update both?

I think you have like parent themes or something like that.

I figured you could. In wowbb, they're callled independant/dependant, wasn't sure of terminology in vB.

Yeah, you can do that in vB also. That's how we handle our two variations with our current skins here...but that setup only works if the skins use the same layout (ie: AF Red and AF Blue)

You lose the ability to do that when you introduce skins that are completely different.
