AdminFusion Seeks Administrator

*** POSITION FILLED ***

AdminFusion Seeks Co-Admin

Overview

We are looking for another staff member here at AdminFusion, and this time, an administrator. The basic roles of this person would be forum support, email handling, advertisement organization, AdminFusion announcements, decision-making/planning, and promotion. We are not requiring moderate to heavy moderation, although this person must visit AdminFusion daily. Think of yourself as a COO (Chief Operating Officer), not a project manager, but not the CEO. You will work with the current admin to help manage administrative issues and allow for more time spent with promotion. There will be no pay/rewards for this job, as it is 100% voluntary. This is a great opportunity for anybody looking to become a major role in a rapidly growing community. Our traffic has skyrocketed recently...50,000 Alexa ranking (and improving) and upwards of 8,000+ uniques per month, also increasing.

Experience and Skills Required
  • The biggest quality we are looking for is a professional appearance and good grammar. Because this person will be handling emails and announcements at AdminFusion, he/she will ultimately become a public figure for AF, and thus represent AdminFusion very much.
  • The second most important factor is available time. We prefer somebody who is not already extremely involved in another project, although exceptions can be made. While we do not require hours on end each day, we do prefer that this person spread his/her time spent on the forums throughout the day - instead of spending all time on the forums in one interval.
  • Past experience running forums and/or handling managerial issues is a plus
  • Must have proof of experience, whether a resume of sorts or examples of posts elsewhere
  • An age of 18 older would be nice, but not a requirement
  • Online at least an average of 2 hours per day (with exceptions of course)
  • Location is not as big a factor as it previously was
  • Have and use either AIM or MSN when online
  • Moderate conscience - able to make good and fair decisions
Job Role
  • Read and respond to AdminFusion related emails
  • Organize and announce forum promotions and updates
  • Become involved in, and discuss the advancement of AdminFusion
  • Provide support and assistance to the AdminFusion members
  • Know and understand the rules well and enforce them properly and fairly using the vBulletin system
How to Apply

If interested, please send an application to jobs[at]adminfusion.com. If you have previously applied for a moderator position, you may resend the same application. Be sure to include all of the following information in your application (if you have applied previsouly, double-check this, as it has changed)

Your username at AdminFusion. Your age and location, including the time zone and time spent online daily. While time zone will be taken into consideration, it is not nearly as big of a factor as it was previously for moderator positions. Also include your previous experience, years of experience, size of forums previously administered, examples of written work and posts (include direct links to profiles), current projects/jobs, if any, and any other pertinent information. If you have experience handling managerial duties (such as revenue and expenses, sponsorship deals, etc.), that will improve your chances. Most important of all, include why you are interested in this job.

Please include all requested information. Once again, we are looking for somebody who is interested in the forum industry, has a professional appearance, and has experience handling managerial duties. Serious applicants only. If we do not find an applicant who meets our expectations, we reserve the right to not hire at the time. Unlike previous positions, we will be looking outside of AdminFusion for this person as well. If you are wondering why we are so serious with this application, it is because we are very serious about the advancement of AdminFusion. Once taking this job, you will become a key role in a community with very high goals and potential.

You may direct general questions here in this thread, but all applications must be sent to jobs[at]adminfusion.com, else you will not be considered.

I sure do, but am going to have to ask that you send another, since the things we are asking for are slightly different this time - This time around we are emphasizing, professionalism (is that a word? because if not, it is now!), grammar, and past "managerial work" experience. This meaning dealings with advertising, sponsorships, partnerships, announcements, newsletters, etc.

Feel free to copy/paste your last application and just add this extra stuff. If you need that previous application, PM me and I'll send it to you.

Hmm. I am interested in applying. However one question seems at the forefront. Does forum software experience come into play here? For example, I have 3 years exp admin'ing with IPB, not vB.

Please advise.

EDIT: Also, what is the window of opportunity?

Dictionary.com says it is a word, they're generally right about this sort of things.

Best of luck to whoever gets this position, I hope they have plenty of experience. There is really nothing worse than an administrator with not enough experience.

Experience with particular software is not important. What is important is that you have experience with forums as a whole and you have experience with the administrative aspects of them. Picking up the required knowledge on vB's admin side if you do not already have it won't be difficult.

Regarding the window of opportunity...it could be anything. Anything from 2 days to 2 weeks. It just depends on whether or not we see exactly what we're looking for, and if so, when we do.

Well I sent an application; there is a lot of stiff competition so I am pretty sure I won't get it but best luck to all.
