i'd say it could be made in psd format so ryan or red or whoever could change the month, send it to the winner to be displayed on their site for the month they won.

I've had a little more time to work on the graphic (in my excitement of learning I was a FOTM winner, I spent all of an hour making the first graphic), so I think it looks better now. Easier to compare side-by-side, so original on left, new on right:

That is not meant to be an insult to the designer. I just enjoy playing with graphics and thought I could do something toward brand recognition, as well as to express my gratitude for being selected as FOTM.

Although I have PhotoShop, I use it primarily for editing original PSD graphics. If I am making my own graphics (or, as in this case, modifying existing graphics from their GIF or JPG formats), I use Adobe Fireworks. I'd be happy to send the PNG files to anyone on staff. I'd also be happy to make the graphics for all the 2007 and 2008 winners and send those to staff. I could do the blue version too.

Not at all. It was more a pipe dream (well, it's been a good many years since I got my dreams from a pipe, but you know what I mean). I actually refreshed the page when I first saw it. You know, one a them ether-glitches or pixel misalignments. Man, what a nice surprise.
