Hey all,

I changed the VBSEO url settings to have title based urls and titles. i know that you guys have discussed this here before and the admins have decided to stay away from this type of SEO style, but i did some research and right now we are not doing the best in the search engines. We only have 2600 pages indexed in google, We have way more in yahoo but we gotta pick this up a lot

i know this is generally frowned upon, to change your link structure and that they, but in the 7 forums i have managed, this has always lead to higher traffic and increased rankings. so this can be like a case study for all of us

Google --- 2,610 pages for http://www.adminfusion.com.
Yahoo --- 20,900 for http :// www . adminfusion . com

I'll update this once a month and we'll see how it goes. I estimate for us to see an increase in anything will be about 1.5-2.5 months

I never noticed the url titles before. Sounds good to me as long as my bookmarks will still work

Good idea altho you might want to do, forum_title - forum_id, and thread_title-thread_id to get the keywords a little closer to the root.
I use the option #6 is the url presets, this is forum_id, which allows me to tweak the forum name and not disrupt the indexed pages, and thread_title-thread_id to get a few keywords in the url.

I guess it’s a good move and it would serve as a good case study for us all

, though I think the thread URL should only contain thread name + thread id, including forum name just makes the url too long.
