More post-fusion problems?

So, I'm lost here, and can't find a specific postfusion forum to post this problem into. Here's the problem:

I've downloaded the zip
I've uploaded files in the zip to the webpage

I've gone to the configuration page (here), entering forum name, forum url, postfusion url, description

I've doublechecked the postfusion URL, and it's valid (comes back with a bit of a password as it were.

I've clicked on submit in the configuration page (here), yet get

Quote:

Could not connect to the specified pickup script. Please validate the url entered and that it is installed correctly!

I've even copied and pasted the URL from the form to a new tab in the browser just to make sure there were no typos in there, and still nothing. What on earth could I possibly be doing wrong there?

3 months later and still having this issue. Is this ever going to be fixed, or can we pretty much write PF off for dead now?

The thread about the new owner mentions they are deep into the PF code and working on it so it should be working well soon is how it sounds!

In order to get PostFusion working again, you will need to download and install the pf_pickup.php and pf_config.php files again.

wasn't working previously, so it's not really working "again", but it did work this time
