Users chatting
My users tend to "chat" in threads back and forth in my off-topic section. A few have asked for a chat function or a shout box. I don't necessarily like this though since these chats can sometimes turn into serious discussion and I think a lot of good posts will be lost. Is there a plugin or addon that would put these chats into a post, but give the user an instant messenger feel? Any suggestions?

Well, I don't know of any modification that would do that, but if there is one out there, I would love to know about it, as well.

True, but what if there were some way to integrate a chatroom-like UI into a single post format? That would be pretty insane.
