Upcoming Software: Zetaboards

InvisionFree is probably the #1 free-hosted-forums site. They use IPB 1.3 with advertisements. Well for a while now, they've been working on ZetaBoards, which is entirely different from IPB. Right now it's in beta, check it out: http://beta.zetaboards.com/test/index/

I think ZB will do pretty good and I have high expectations.

I forget the URl, but you can sign up for your own ZetaBoard to beta test. It's quite cool

I like it too, it looks very clean

I wonder if they are/would offer the software alone for people to host on their own.

Eh, it looks nice, but I'm not really a fan of the ACP. We'll have to see how it turns out to be. IMO, of course.

I like the skin, but the software itself is pretty yucky. It introduces a few nifty features, but a lot are already elsewhere. And personally, I think the Admin CP is hideous and limited.

They've said that it was "built for this environment only and will not be released..."

Ah, but it would be pretty cool if it was released as a package. I think it may give the software a completely different feel (when compared to using it on a hosted service).

Honestly, I expected better from InvisionFree. I like it better than IF obviously, but some people were a bit disappointed in it.

There are some new settings in the acp which are really cool, but it's a bit more difficult to navigate. For the most part they changed the layout of ZetaBoards.

Anyways, I'm glad they got it released, but it didn't seem to meet the expectations of some old IFBoard owners
