|  When do you start using software? When do you install or upgrade software on your main board in a LIVE environment? That is what release status... I often use or upgrade to public betas

| In the past I have only used the full or gold releases but in the future I would be comfortable upgrading to a Release Candidate or perhaps a beta.

Join Date: Jun 2006 Posts: 108 Location: California, US | I varies for me. Some of the larger boards I run only go for upgrades after a few weeks of gold being out. Some less vital ones like my personal boards I usually upgrade to beta/RC If I get the time | ||||

| It depends on how badly I need a new feature being offered. I run Beta versions of VBSEO a lot because I test them. I wouldn't mind running a beta of vBulletin. I'd do the upgrade on one of my smaller sites first though. A lot of it depends on how much a trust the software developers. | ||||

Join Date: Sep 2005 Posts: 10,246 Location: Athens, GA | I'll typically only upgrade to gold releases, but as Bama said, if I need the new features bad enough and am confident in the release, I'll upgrade to RC in a live environment (have done this before at AF) In order to go live with an RC release, I do plenty of testing first
