vBulletin, of course. As I've always used vB for all of my web-related communities and/or projects, it has always been my first choice (with IPB in a close second). While both of them offer a variety of powerful features, I personally feel that vBulletin is stronger when it comes down to flexibility and customization.

I started with wowbb and now with WowClassic its the only software Ive ever used except for some yahoo thing once that turned out not to be what i wanted (being new is such a cow).
In all fairness wowbb software as it stands is good and simple for simple minded folks like me out there anything more and I'm 100% sure it would be over my head...:-).

Vanilla, hands on the best thing I've ever worked with (apart from Word Press). Super light weight and very easy to customise and add to (via extensions). Highly recommend, especially coming from the nightmare to run which is IPB (great if you run it as is, but hell if you need to customise it).

IPB. I do wish it had a modding and skinning community as active as vB's though.

I am glad you are happy, dudeness. Nancy has her own culture going as a total independent - she was never wowbb staff, or staff anywhere in the forum world. In fact, all her business has been is attempting to add features, themes, and service response times that are all her own. I enjoy helping her because she is not only a good friend that has helped me with my personal sites many times, but because I loved beta testing new features with her on my sites and totally dig the direction she is going (which is quite aggressive). Everyone has different tastes and needs, but I do honestly feel that what you get for the money, upgrades and all, is quite a value play.

Hmmm, never even heard of Vanilla. Or at least, I forgot about it. I will have to check that out, thanks.

I've only used phpbb 2, smf (once years ago in a free hosted site) and phpbb 3. Out of those it's phpbb3. First it seemed harder to edit than phpbb2, but you get into it quickly
