Your favorite forum software features

What are your favorite features in forum software?

Although my site doesn't have it, I like it when you can scroll over a topic title and see a preview of the post. I dig "signature control" on my site which lets me shut sigs off or on for individual users as well as specify whether or not they can use graphics. I know many forum sites have this, but I do very much like those little icons you can click at a topic title to take you to where you last left off in the topic (first new post since you've been there). I also dig a custom mod I had done for my site - forum control - that lets users collapse individual forums, filtering them out from search results and various listings or views.

Let's hear your favorites ...

No really, although its a very simple and common feature, I think usergroups are one of the best features for forums. If used correctly they can be great because users love to have special usernames and badges and stuff.

The ability to post just like what Moelman said.

My personal favorite is the ability to manage such large amount of users easily thanks to the backend of literally every updated forum software

I LOVE plugin systems for mods... saves a lot of time and allows you to concentrate on developing the other aspects of the forum.

And I like being able to click a "new posts" button and see everything that's been updated since my last visit.

Hmm, you like this feature? I actually found it caused quite an embarassing problem when a user was put into tachy and other users started to notice every one of their posts was gone.

It has its uses, although I like the name more than anything else.
