I currently use SMF 1.0.5 and 1.1 RC2. I've used phpBB and after trying SMF I just couldn't face going back to it. SMF is such a better designed system, even better than IPB in some cases, IMO of course.

I have experience with vB, SMF 1.0.5, and SMF 1.1rc2. Not a fan of phpBB and can't foresee ever using it. Really don't have any experience with IPB as an admin and very little as a user.

vB is real nice but I prefer the newest version of SMF. The free-ness makes it even an easier decision.

I do sincerely love vB, but the price of an IPB vs. a vB, for someone like me, it's gotta be IPB.

Been using VB now for over 6 months and wouldn't change it for anything. Easy to use, plenty of hacks and mods. The support, can't beat it.

This message is for all of you phpBB guys, TRY SMF!. It's just as easy, if not easier to edit and skin than phpBB. It has more features, stock, has great support and a bunch of hacks/mods.

Install it in a test directory, take a look at the admin panel and browse the SMF forums. Once you use it, i know you will see how much better it is.

SMF looks just like Phpbb...and in my eyes is NOT better... i don't see nothing special about it nor do i see why i should change... and IMO it don't look all that great...

I knew you would say that, that's why I said to install a test board. Once you use it, you will see how much better it really is.

I use MyBB. It's a fairly new system, but it has a lot of the features vB has but it's free.
