How to create a locked forum for top posters?

BTW, I use vBulletin.

Right now one of nine forums on my board is very popular. In order to promote registration and posting, I would like to make access to it only available to regged posters with at least ten quality posts.

So how would I go about locking this existing forum so that only regged posters with at least ten posts could enter it--after being approved by me?

Also, I appear to have 9 forums nested within another forum. Are they all just called "forums" or are there different names like "forums" and "sub-forums"?

Dumb question, I know.

You could just use VB's promotions system and promote people to a usergroup with access to the hidden forum after they reach a certain number of posts...

You can also use this mod:

I advise against it, but all you need to do is create a seperate membergroup, add the users in question to the group, and create a board that only allows moderators, admins, and members of that membergroup access.

Yeah, basically agreed with the above. I don't know how to do it in vBulletin, but with SMF, you have post-count-based membergroups. Simply create a post-based membergroup, and make it the only group with permission to the forum.
