I've just ordered the $30 package off Forumwizards, so we'll see how that goes!
That is slightly frustrating. As an ex-poster for both companies and private, I can shed a little bit of light there. With companies posters make somewhere between $.08-$.15 a post (not all companies, most I've seen though). Private, maybe higher, it depends on the client. To post spamishly, you could probably do 90 posts in an hour. $7.20-$13.50/hour, not bad at all. However, the wrench gets thrown in the gears at the spamish part. No one wants spamish posts, or one liners, or post marathons. 99.9% of people who purchase forum posting want thought out posts atleast 3-4 sentences. Maybe other people might be speed demonds, but 3-4 sentence posts would probably be about 45 an hour. Right down there we drop to $3.50-$6.75/hour, not great at all.

On top of that, most forum owners don't expect 3-4 sentence chit-chat, they want discussion questions, responses etc. related to their topic. Not only do you have to post intelligently, knowledge is required about the subject. A little bit of research has to be done on the topic (sometimes more than a little bit). With well thought out, intelligent posts related to someone's topic, I was making a little under $2/hour. Needless to say, I moved away from it into other things. Most people could probably work at their local fast food joint and make more money. It's just not worth the stress for so little money.

People expect high quality posts for low prices and it's just impractical. Working 1-2 hours just to afford lunch for a day isn't worth it. There isn't much of a demand for more expensive higher quality posts. I hope this doesn't sound like too much of a bash, but experience writers simply aren't going to post for $3/hour. Instead, the forum posters (understandably) post as many posts as they can in a short amount of time to make money.

That's just my $.02, take it with a grain of salt

Wonderful insight, Pyro, you really did break it down well...This is all something that few people seem to understand, and I think that this sentence summarizes it:

I have started such a site 1 week ago and we already have 3 clients .. one uses the "trial" posting (5 USD) and 2 are on the 200 posts plans. I really hope they will like the quality, I have threatened my team with a beating if they post anything less than 30 words/post and a low quality message. When the deals are done, maybe we'll receive some more feed-back.

The rates are presented here

If you think it's OK, I thank you in advance for adding it to the list.

Same here. Every time I hired a paid poster, they ended up copying posts from other forums. That or the posts were crap. Not worth it imho.

You're cheapest price is a little less than $0.30 a post? That's a little high.

That's because I pay .20 to my team members (after they make 5 jobs) and every 5 jobs get them money bonuses. And there are 30+ (we had even small articles, because we do get carried away) words/message, all in the specialized forums, well written and thought. It's not a 10+ chit chat message we offer.

If the price is that high, we invite people to take on the cheap ones and then come here to complain how much paid posting sucks.

I run Get Forum Posts - Professional Writers For Your Forum and Paid Forum Posting and Blogging - Paid Posting Tools - Tools for your Paid Posting Business. Rates vary from service to service. I'd appreciate having GetForumPosts added to this list.

Like dojo I don't run basement prices because that doesn't yield good results. You can get plenty of short mindless 8 cent posts from Digital Point if it interests you or you can approach the need for content with the recognition that the cheapest provider of content is rarely going to offer the best product. Writers deserve to earn enough to make it worth maintaining longer term relationships with services and forum owners.
