I also think that saying it failed to take off is a bit of a stretch. I'm not sure how old your forum is, but you do have a decent amount of posts on there for a new site. The problem (if you see it as a problem) is that you have so many categories, it dilutes the post density, but in your case the specificity is a necessity. Looks neat, I joined.
