first newsletter help

Hi there,

Im planning on starting a newsletter for my forum, what im after is the following

1) I want to use MS Publisher 2003 for designing the newsletter,
2) I want to use a double opt in system for sign ups
3) i cant afford to pay for anything so it needs to be free

Is there any way to do this?

Cheers

Jake

Hi
Just out of interest why are you using Publisher? would it not be easier to use your hosting companies newsletter service and design your own newsletter using HTML/XHTML.

I don't understand the double opt-in system?

Your web hosting provider should be able to provide you with a set number of Newsletters that you can send to your members.

Publisher isn't good for designing newsletters, but for sending them you can use the free phplist service.

publisher, just cos im messing around with programs at the mo.
double opt in, where someone signs up for the newsletter and gets an email comtaining a link to comfirm.
my host has nothing like a newsletter system as its only a free forum host.

The problem is, the newsletter you design in Publisher, when turned into HTML, won't work for a lot of people. If you're not good at HTML or CSS then here are some free newsletter templates to use.

phplist is a script - phplist.com : Homepage : home - that can be used to manage sending out newsletters (I'm pretty sure it has double opt-in)
