Has it helped your forum create new interest by attracting more members + posters or has it not effected your forum in anyway? If it has helped; how much did it help?  | ||||

| I display posts threads and members in whos online but remove the other parts of whos online area. I also remove the columns on forumhome that show posts and threads and latest posts for guests. I think it looks a lot cleaner. | ||||

| Yeah I display them all. You can say you want your forum to look more active but if you're hiding them then it looks like you have something to hide.

Join Date: Jun 2006 Posts: 585 Location: New Delhi, India | Displaying stats isn’t going to cause high server load, though if you have enough traffic to cause heavy load, then the burden of running extra queries to retrieve and display those stats will cause extra load that one can certainly do without. | ||||

Join Date: Sep 2005 Posts: 10,246 Location: Athens, GA | Once again, if your server load is high, you need a bigger/better server...Turning stats off is not going to drop a high server load to acceptable levels. Will it help? Sure, it might help a little bit...but you could disable all sorts of features to lower the server load. When it all comes down to it, high server load = new server.
