Although I respect the admin and the work that they have put into their own forum I just felt really put off when this has been done to me and I did not bother to return to those forums. You look into the rules and you do not find anything to say that you cannot add your site link so you go ahead and put it in, then for it to be taken off with a pm from the admin or moderator making you feel like a naughty school kid is just a bit overboard imo. As an admin I allow my members to have their own signature as long as it's within the forum guidelines, usually the norm of what most forums have for their guidelines but I like to allow them their own personal space which is their signature and avatar and if they choose to add their website link then that is fine with me. If my members choose to click on the website links from members on my forum and go elsewhere then I can't stop them and wouldn't want to if they did leave because they must be leaving for a reason so I should be thinking more of how to make sure I am doing the best that I can for my members on my forum to stick around in the first place.
