![]() | As of right now, the link to your forum is dead. And yes, I think it's a fantastic idea to have artists contribute downloads/content at your online community. It will provide an incentive for guests to sign up and participate within the forum and it's discussions. You don't need a specific number of posts at your launch, but having already made threads/posts will allow guests/members to become more involved -- whether it's just reading the content or contributing to the discussion. Content is key. The more content you have; the better. Make sure the posts are about your niche -- not just in the off-topic discussions. Of course, doing these things will improve your rate of your forum becoming successful, but keep in mind that owning and running a forum takes a lot of patience. At the beginning of a forum's lifetime, the "success" and activity will vary. During some times of the month, you'll have an incredible amount of activity and registration rates, while other times of the year you'll have nothing at all. Don't give up. Stay dedicated and keep providing more and more quality content. If you don't, your project will fail. It can be stressful and frustrating, but it will have it's rewarding moments.Good luck! |

![]() | Just so you know, in your original post the displayed link is correct, but it is still being directed to AusTechForums. In order for me to get your website, I had to manually type the URL in. Not a big deal, but if someone else stumble across the post, they might not notice it. Glad to hear you and your moderators are working on the community's content. Don't forget, the higher quality and more unique the posts -- the better! |

![]() | Don't use phpbb. Maybe it's a personal bias, but I can't stand the look or feel of it. I can't see your test forum, but yes get a base of friends first, then launch it. |

| Apprentice | My best suggestion is to create a TON of fake users, i had about fifty fake users on my site, and had all my mates create some - thats how we started!!!
