Dip in visitors and activity

Mine has been slow all summer long, now that school is starting up again its slowly regaining activity but its still not where I want it to be at.

That's interesting because forums in the affiliate marketing niche are experiencing a surge in traffic
SOmeone has been advicing that forum participation is the new black so they are all at it
I wonder if your niches are the only ones unaffected by this new found love for forums, especially by affiliate marketers

Our forum is slow this time of year. Slowly posters find their way back around October for training camp then the regular season. We have posters from all over the world who are San Antonio Spurs fans so if nothing is going on with their favorite player from their country such as Manu Ginobili from Argenina or Tony Parker from France, then they just dont post. Not much activity if the Spurs aren't making any moves or doing nothing during the off season.

i do a lot of adult sites and they are notoriously slow over the summer. when kids start back to college it usually picks up

I think this is the same case with my WoW site. Some of my members are adults but a lot of them are students.

Problem is it seems that these are all seasonal niches.
Google trends is a good tool to see if the change in your traffic corresponds to the seasonal changes in your niches

I certainly experienced a slump in activity. The key to bringing it back up is by staying active yourself. If you continue to post, there are going to be people checking back and posting.
