i have used them for my new forums and i think it has helped. i have gotton now a lot of regular posters. Its a great way to start up a site. like it has been said before. kind of like kickstart. Also i like to do post exchanges to with other webmsaters. great way to get a new memeber and new posts for free.

Well .. in order to have a nice working forum you need over 100 members and over 5000 posts. I have almost 8 thousand posts and 200 members and let me tell you, my community is far from rolling nicelly. Tell me HOW MUCH would this seeding cost me? 100 posts is nothing, you need more members and yes, constant posting.

Before anyone jumps at me: I have made myself a LOT of posts in my community. To be exact 2116.

I have started 840 posts myself .. there are more than 1 thousand good threads started and still I need more to have the community work as it should.

My advice: get to some good thread starting, discuss with other admins about some nice post exchanges and keep on doing this. For some time you'll have some members register because of the posts exchanges (you'll pay them with posts, not money) and some members will come seeing the good chat. Keep doing it for some time and then it's OK. You could spend the money on icecream or AdSense ...

I didnt really understand this...was it satire or serious? There is no formula for success...and I'm not too big a fan of paying for posts either, as I agree that I need more than 100 posts or so, and paying for more than that can get expensive. I also agree with you on the need for the admins to post, post, post...I make up about 25% of the total posts here at AdminFusion as well - that's a lot of posts

Lately Ive seen alot of ppl who offers services like forumelves etc..
I quess it helps kick starts your forum - but not nececcary on the right way..
Im not attacking their services but its like having "fake" posters on a forum..
and when they are done they wont be around anymore..

and at the same time at these services gets more common ppl will notice it and if they understand that you are using it they might find it negative and wont sign up at your boards.

Great point kenny, i dont remember but someone else (not here) said that its no point in paying because all they do is post and they post with no feeling, like they dont do anything really helpfull...

i did this free thing it was a test thing i wasnt going to buy it i just wanted to get 5 posts so i signed up and all the guy did was polls and then he posted like how he likes the forum or something.....
