One way, maybe not the cheapest way, is to pay people to post. The usual going rate is .10 to .25 cents USD a post. Which can add up if your looking for 500+ posts. I've done this a couple times, but the best way to do this, if your investing your money in it, is to say New Topics Only, which is more benificial to the forum and its members.

It's the cheap way to get new members, not the best.
The best way is doing it yourself; promoting and such.

I am a paid poster on some forums, but I don't recommend hiring forum posters.

Yeah, it is the cheap way, but it is a guaranteed way...if you are just looking for some posts to fill forum, this will do it...If you are looking for more members in the community, this will not work - unless you pay them to the end of time...because I would guess that 90% of paid-to-posters end up leaving when payment stops coming

Does anyone who's had experience with paid posters have some examples of their work? And who did you hire?
While it seems like a good way to get the ball rolling, I have always used post exchanges and it's worked perfectly for me thus far..we'll see how the latest one goes I suppose.

I've never been a fan of paying for posts, as a matter of fact...I've actually done it for $$ myself before...while my posts arent as low quality as some I've seen, I don't think I would actually pay for them. Exchanges are a much better way to go, in my opinion...unless you just have a whole lot of money to waste...and if that's the case, you should probably be advertising, not buying posters

I was (sort of) a paid poster working for Forum Launch, but I ended up quitting because the sites weren't worth my time.

I honestly don't think I'd ever pay anyone to post.

I'd rather have a smaller user-base full of loyal posters than a bunch of no-substance posts from users who only want money.

Typically, paid posters are meant to be a short-term plan...something to get your forums off the ground...or something to create a spark in a dying community, etc...I doubt anybody would pay posters to post at their community for an extended period of time
