Saw this on another forum.

I've never actually put this to use or anything, I was planning on it, but I didn't. It was used on some hip hop forum.

I shoulden't just call you moderators, you will be doing a lot more than simply "moderating". With your help, we will drive this mutahfuckas activity level 800 times more than it is right now in just 3 weeks with this program.

There will be three moderators per forum and you can only be a moderator of only one forum. You'll see why in a second.

Illesty.com Moderator Job Profile
Create & Increase Activity, Recruit New Members, Moderate

* Create & Increase Activity

The objective is to create activity for your particular forum by making it attractive to post in. Moderators will need to create new threads daily, become active in the threads made by other members, create interactivity amongst members such as polling, crazy topics, debates, feedback, involvement, etc. on a daily basis. If no one is posting you need to be posting, drag people into your forum to make threads and replies. You also need to be heavily involved in the threads, conversing and being heard.

* Recruit New Members

Each moderator is responsible to recruiting at least one new member to Illesty.com per day. If you do more that's fine, but all i'm asking of you is to bring in at least one new person to illesty.com per day. That's not hard. So far there are 18 forums, 3 moderators per forum, so 54 moderators in total meaning that each day there will be at least 54 new members, at least. Amazing, that type of working together will drive this site into an activity craze.

* Moderate

Of cource the traditional job for moderators is to moderate. You will not abuse the powers by editing a person's text. Moderating is the least important of your job roles in helping this community grow strong. However, you will delete spam and stuff like that. No big deal, but I want you to focus on Activity and Recruitment.

Working Together
Since there will be three moderators per forum, make sure ya'll find time to meet up and work together on how to make your particular forum the best forum, a driven sucess. There are a lot of moderators because there will be a lot of members so please take this shit serious. If we all work together this site can grow exponentially each and every single day. That's damn near 54 executives working on one site bring over 50 new members per day here and starting new threads and making replies for the benifit of Illesty.com, don't you think this shit can be the best and most attractive Hip-Hop site using this formula correctly? This is non-profit, you don't and won't ever see any ads here, we we just doing this shit to achieve a goal and to have fun on our free time. I like contributing to this site's growth and i'm sure there are plenty of you want want to do the same. It's so simple it's retarded. This is why mosto ther communities fail, they don't work together, i'm asking damn near 60 people to help run this site.

Daily Report
At the end of each day I want you to submit a short and brief report telling me what type of threads you started, how the activity level is doing, and who you recruited for the day, if you have any suggestions, requests or concerns (report will be added to a special moderator's forum) It can be as little as two sentences. I just want to make sure that your duties have been done for that day so that we can continue to rise to power with no surprises or lagging moderators. This is done to keep all 55 of us on track.

Sign Up Process
Before you sign up make sure you have enough time to dedicate your self to Creating Activity, Recruiting, Moderating, and Daily Report each day. If you are positive then reply to this post with the particular forum you want to moderate and soon as at least two others sign up for that forum too you will be given the moderator status and you can begin immediatly.

Hmm. Some of its eems ok. But I noticed they dont request any experience information. Also requiring each person to refer one person each day, that could become quite a hassle. Especially after they just start making new accounts themselves. Also I dont think requiring moderators to start new threads all the time is a good idea. You want your members to create the threads and you want your Mods to moderate the threads. Sure mods can post but they shouldn't be required to meet a quota per day.

And another problem here is who would actually do this and for what?

Agreed...what's in it for the "Moderators"...what they are basically doing is promoting a forum for hours per day...more than many admins will spend on their own forums - all for just a moderator tag....I just don't see many people willing to do this voluntarily, it's something that people get paid good money for.

That aside, I've always been under the impression that the job of a moderator is to moderate posts, not to increase activity, recruit, promote the forums, etc...this is all stuff that they should do, yes, but not a requirement and not something that should be monitored....if your moderators spend more time recruiting members and what not, then call them "Promoters" not moderators.

I think that finding 54 people to do what was described is about the same likelihood as getting a pig to fly

Not sure Ryan, getting a pig to fly would probably be easier.

A better method would be to give money per new member or some kind of system where they get stuff back. The one who brings in the most gets a free SD Card or something.

Is there a hack for VB that allows this? Or even for most posts/threads?

Not really just for that, but it could be done one way or another...you can track referrals and just go off of that...or you could install a points system and integrate a bank/exchange system
