Contest Question

| I'm going to be running a contest soon on my forum and I want to make it so members have to post a minimum number of posts to be eligible. The contest will last for one month and at first I was thinking that a minimum of 50 posts would be required. Does this sound like its too much? Today I was thinking that maybe I should reduce that in half to 25. This is the first contest I will have run on my forum as well. Your opinions are very much appreciated.

| I only have a handful of members over 50 posts but the site has been running for nearly two years. I'm leaning toward just required 25 posts to qualify for the contest. I think 25 posts in a months time is not too much to handle. If others think differently, definitely let me know. Thanks!

Some forums i could goto and make 25 constructive posts in a day without much problem. If you require that say at least 5 must be posted on different weeks, then you will get a nicer spread of posts.

| Thanks everyone. I've put together a basic set of rules and I made sure to mention the no spamming issue. Basically if someone is caught spamming they will be disqualified and banned from the forum. There are also other rules for making constructive posts and not short two word replies. I can't predict how this will work out though as it's the first time I am running a contest. Should be interesting nonetheless.

That oftern helps to calm people down, and help them be ,more constructive.

| That's a good idea awibble. I'm going to give it a few days to see how things go. If necessary I will update the "rules" so everyone can see that message. There's also a possibility that the current sponsor will want to sponsor further contests if all goes well. That alone would benefit the community as a whole. Thanks again!
