I have a forum with about 400,000 posts and I need to monetize it much better. But since I am currently jaded and braindead, I need to speak to people in the know and with an alternative viewpoint.

Are there any well know experts who offer a service for forum advice? Who would you go to to get cutting edge advice on this area? What about speaking to an expert for paid advice but who is one of the best in this area?

Well there are a few here that do very well using different ways via CPC and CPA.

What is your forum's topic and is it monetized now? Congrats on the 400K worth of post, but how many uniques visitors and pageviews do you get per month?

If you can share your forum and maybe we can all help with some advice.

I just don't think I am making the most of it. Maybe need plugins, a page where users can see who has posted the most, better skin, that sort of thing! But I don't know what exactly.

I'd remove the "powered by vBulletin" phrase in your title.

Since your board is vB, may I suggest reading up on our vbulletin section. Start with the stickys. If you still crave more knowledge, visit loco's site.

Let me say that you have a lot of options! You could get a new look, not to drastic, but maybe make it feel more homey and entice more clicks.

Maybe turn on your archive, have it on a separate skin (one with more ads, or placed differently) While on the subject of ads, try Auction Ads. They are giving all AF members a $5 sign up bonus.

Also, I think your niche is cool. Maybe I'll come on by and learn how to create something beautiful.
