Monetizing a Large Warez Forum?

Hi guys,

My friend is a co-Admin of a site that's Alexa ranks are:

Worldwide - 891
United States - 255
United Kingdom - 439
Canada - 182
Singapore - 46

Yes, that's pretty impressive (wish it was mine )

Currently, they make $300 a month with bidvertiser, and $150 with AuctionAds. Yes, that's pretty pathetic for a site thats ranked 255 in the US.

Anyways, I'm helping them out and implemented a few new ads. I increased their revenue by 10X more, but I feel that they should be making more. Because it's a warez site, many programs did not accept the forum.

Anyone know any ad programs (CPM preferably) that allows warez?

You could try some private ad sales.

I've tried, and I am trying that. However, not many people have a budget suitable for a site this size...

Good luck, I don't know of any ad networks that accept warez sites...In fact, I know this is against AuctionAds policies...Whether or not they enforce that or you get caught, I don't know, but your friend is risking not getting paid for any of his ads if he gets caught. The same may hold true for Bidvertiser, I'm not sure

Your best bet is just going to be private sales. It wouldn't be hard to make more from private advertisers than you're currently making. Given the current stats, I'd be blown away if people weren't willing to pay $50 to have a banner rotated among 5 others in the header...Bam, that's $250/month. Then, you can sell 5-10 text links on the site...You could should be able to sell those for $35 in a heartbeat

$50 for the banner and $35 for the text links are low numbers in my opinion...I don't see how it would be hard to find buyers

I have a friend who also runs a Warez site, I am not into that sort of stuff but he is making quite a bit from it using AdBrite, he got accepted and says it pays very good CTR and he has a good eCPM.

It's also against Adbrite's policies

They may just not enforce this stuff, I'm not sure...but it is clearly against their policies

Wow I didn't know that, all I know is that my friend is running a very large warez forum with AdBrite adverts and has had them in place for over 6 months now and earns over $50 from them every day.

Again if it is against their ToS like Ryan said it might be a risk, but private sales might also be a good idea, just add an "Advertise Here" link in your header or something and then you might get some sales.
