Private Advertising Price Advice

I've been approached by a private advertiser that would like to advertise on my forum and I would like some advice for what prices to offer. He asked for pretty much all ad locations and it would be nice to have an idea of what each position is worth, but I think right now I only want to offer text links in the footer or sidebar, and sidebar buttons similar to the topsites buttons I have now. In the future I would probably offer a leaderboard position. My traffic has been fluctuating lately in Google but I would say on average between 100 and 150 uniques a day.

The forum in question is World of Warcraft Forums

ask him how much he is looking to spend because he may want to spend more than you have in mind

I'd rather have some prices in mind and say this is what I have available.

Well if it's just a text link or a button, I would say right around 4-8 dollars a month, you might get away with $10.00.

I'd say offer a low price, tell him it's a low price, and tell him that prices are expected to rize.

Shouldnt they start off high and drop as he continues to purchase nt the other way around?

Well if I was looking to others to advertise I would start low and work my way up until it was hard to sell all the spots, but they still all sold. Since he came to me I offered him a price maybe higher than normal for the traffic I'm getting but I think my site has a lot of potential for traffic to increase. Anyways I said $8 for a text link and $7 for a button (like the topsites ones), he bought a text link.
