currently the ad sizes are

Banner (468x60)
Leaderboard (728x90)
Medium Rectangle (300x250)
Wide Skyscraper (160x600)

i was wondering
will theses change or some new sizes be added?
ya i know that there are some custom ad sizes but i am talking about the defualt ones that googles adsense ect use
is there any real reason for them to modify them?

Why not, I can’t see why one has to stick to these ad sizes, especially when each website is designed differently and majority of the time standard sizes fail to fill up the appropriate space. I would love to see Google Adsense providing this as a customization option for its publishers; of course it would create a lot of problem for advertisers who like to use image ads extensively.

Also Adsene offers more adsize than you have listed in your post, currently I am using 200x200 rectangle in my blogs.
