Do Topsites help getting people to your site?

Well they wont help you if you dont get traffic to your site
well i am getting a good amount of traffic now and my site is on the main page of the topsite
do you think that it really helps?

I'm not sure, on my WoW site I get some hits but not a lot, I keep them up though because as my traffic increases I move up in their rankings, only one of the buttons shows your ranking on the button and I'm around 50, I don't think I've gotten any members from them though.

well if it helps even a bit its worth it
its not really hard to do
all you need is the traffic lol

I guess if the top sites are getting some traffic, and your site is at the top then you're bound to get some hits

Dont you have to have their link on your site tho? If that is the case your cluttering up valuable advertising space, making your site on the whole unappealing to future members for the sake of hoping to get maybe 1 or 2 hit from a top site?

Banner exchanges are probably much better where you are guarenteed getting a decent banner placement on another website.

I got hits for FanSmack. We were #1 while we were spending money advertising which in return got a lot of hits.
