It's unfortunate...but all forums are plagued with many members who will register yet never post - I'm wondering how big of a problem this is for your community. Here at AdminFusion, "only" 25% of our members have 0 posts. Something actually wants to make me think this isn't all that bad. What do your #'s look like?

If you have a very low %, what do you think let you achieve this?

We just did a purge recently of users with less than 1 posts who hadn't logged in to the site for more than 2 years. That got rid of something like 4,000 members (!). Now we've got 35% with 0 posts. Before we did the purge it was more than 50%.

6-10% although i have known alot of forums that no one goes on, or only a few. a forum that i know has 126 members, only 20 are active, if that.
i think, the way to fix this is to grab the members attention and give them plenty to do. its a risk, because sometimes it doesn't work. i only wish they was an easy answer to this.

The problem is you have to catch someone the FIRST time they come to your site. If they come, see little activity then leave, they probably wont be coming back.

First impressions are indeed important - and the most important, but it isnt your only hope...there are definitely many ways to bring people who doubt your forums back a second time

Sadly about 48% of my members have zero posts. I'm hoping to get this number lowered though even if it takes some time.

100% of my mebers have posted, this is basically because mine is a new forum and it needs time to grow

so no doubt that when it growns i will have a higher percentage of members who are not posting.

About 25%

I think that's good going - I see many forums with 50% or more non posters

We don't prune inactives either, the 75% who posted are a genuine proportion of the total number of signed up members.
