I might do this to my forum, as there will be loads of "teenagers" at the music forums, but I was also wondering would the adults like this?

I used to allow members to change their username at will, but it gets to be a little annoying after a while. If a member wants their username changed, all they need to do is simply let me know via PM or an e-mail. Chris | ||||

I would never think of letting them change it themselves.

| I don't allow users to change it themselves. I do own auto forums though, and many members will choose their original username based on their car. I know that people switch cars, so if someone PM's or gets ahold of me, I will usually change it if there is a logical reason for the change. Not just because they've gotten bored with it.

| I also don't see a problem with members requesting to have their usernames changed. One forum I admin at modifies the custom user title of anyone that does this to include the text Formerly <former username> for approximately one month. That helps to get rid of confusion when others see some new name with tons of posts show up all of a sudden.
