I even rely on my free accounts when I register at other forums...I don't use my paid email addresses. There may be the occasional exception here and there where this might be necessary such as for a very professional, business forum or a private forum...but in general, I don't think that it's a good idea to do this.

I know a lot of individuals have their personal email address which may be the one their isp provides them with that they only give to friends and family, and only use some other times. They may sign up for a free email address that they use for everything else such as things they'll register for online so they can avoid spam.

I would personally say no way, it would definitely hurt growth. I use free email, even though I have almost 20 domain names, and I could have any email addy I want, it's easier to get my web mail from the freebies.
