|  Have you ever given your members bad rep? Here's another one of my questions which I like to throw open at the whole community... Have you ever gave your members bad rep? I do rarley. It was me giving a user bad rep just now that made me post this thread in the first place - he was being rather cheeky when somone offered him an alternate solution to his problem and said "this is the most help i have got so far" - which I don't think is fair considering that nobody makes money on my forum [well apart from me but I don't care as much about revenue as I do about the community] -after all, it is a free service.  | ||||

I only give out positive rep. points, simply because I feel that the reputation system should be used to reward people for posts that are helpful, logical, and well thought out. Other than that, I will never give out negative rep. points, no matter what the situation is. If a member gives me a bad reputation, then I will simply ignore it, or take care of it personally with that particular member (depending on the degree of the situation). Sure, there are those members that get on my nerves, but I'm not going to play the, "let's give each other as many negative rep. points as we can!" game.  Chris | ||||

| I only have 1 time so far, his posts hadn't been the greatest quality and he posted another spammy thread so I -repped him anonymously so maybe he'd rethink his posting habits. It wasn't anything bad enough to give out a warning or infraction.

| I have given negative rep plenty of times. But if you compare it to the times I give postive rep, it is still only like 3% - 5%.

| I did when we were on Vb for a while. I have no regret dishing it out if they truly deserve it, but I try and reserve myself, seeing as admins have much more rep power then most members | ||||

| You can change that, you know. Admins can follow the formula, or have a preset number outright. Here at AF, we were on formula up until a month or two ago. Now we are at a high, but flat level of 15. (pos and neg)
