Do you ban all .info domains?

The more and more I think about it most of the people that have been signing up and also spamming my forum are from .info domains.

So I have been debating to just banning .info domains all together. What are your thoughts?

I guess I never really thought about it... I don't currently, and I won't unless I experience some problems from spammers from those domains.

I actually have a dot info domain that is not spammy. Though it is not my primary site should I want to register using my email from that domain and someone banned me for it I think I would be pretty turned off.

I've never really had a problem with, ".info" domains. If I ever do have a problem in the future, then I may or may not permanently ban them, depending on the situation. If I got only a few spammers, then I would just ban them individually. If I got a continuous, non-stop wave of spammers using that domain extension, then yes, I would consider permanently banning the extension.

This is a tricky subject. If you have a truly niche subject, such as demolition, then most of your users should have regular email addresses.

That is why I was thinking about doing such a move.

I've never really thought about it...sure, we receive spam from .info tld's...but we also receive a lot of spam from other tld's

Out of curiousity, I decided to search the AF memberbase for .info and 27 results came back. 6 of these 27 have at least 1 post, and one of them is actually a fairly new, active member - Coffee Break. Judging by those results, I definitely wouldn't ban .info emails from registering.

I think it would be a bit presumptuous. Is banning based on a tld much different than banning Americans based on the fact the most spammers come from the USA(Not a statistic, just an example)? I think it would be unfair for the honest .info holders to be punished for the acts of the dishonest ones.
