| Member | Members spamming our forum Oh the drama. Two of our members (that I know of) went over to a competing site of ours and spammed our website. They posted links to our site all over the place as well as messages that were obviously spam. They even went so far as to bash that forum at the same time. I've banned both members for a month. I was wondering how I should handle this situation on my part? Should I publicly apologize for their actions on that site, send a PM to their admin, or just not do anything? Any advice would be great. I just noticed, one of my super mods as well as another member apologized for the members' actions. So do you think it would be redundant for me to apologyize as well? Perhaps just a PM to the admin?

| Just keeping it real ![]() ![]() ![]() | I would definitely send the admin of the other site an e-mail or a private message that you did not have anything to do with it and that you apologize to them and action has been taken against these members. You’re the owner of the forum, it should be your responsibility to send them a note. Maybe also make a thread at your own forums about spamming other forums with your link could cause their account to be immediately banned and it will not be tolerated.

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Yes, definitely contact the administrator of that website. Doing nothing will lower you're reputation on the competing forum dramatically, and the last thing you want to do is allow a problem, that you never started in the first place, to continue on. | Member | I contacted the admin. He said he appreciated my effort but there was no need. Whatever. Seems we have another problem though. Recently there have been pretty awful PMs being sent out to staff members and a select few members. One of the members was shown to have a very similar IP to an already banned member (who caused nothing but trouble). We're guessing since the PMs are very similar, they're from the same "group" of people. I added another usergroup that can't send PMs. This is for members with less than 10 posts. However, it doesn't seem to work as the latest PM was sent from someone with 0 posts. What's wrong here? Also, one of the members here is threatening to leave if she keeps receiving these PMs. She's been quite upset at our staff since she hasn't been picked as moderator for our forums. Anyway, she created a "training group" to teach each other how train their birds. She says that if she leaves she's going to get all the members (about 25 of them) of that group to leave with her. It's not a formal usergroup, just something she put together. Is there any way I can get these members to stop from leaving?

Once that is set up..then your disgruntled member wont be getting PMs from users with zero posts...and maybe she wont threaten to leave. And if she does and takes her little group with her...its just 25 members. And I doubt that she will even take them all anyways.
