    | Member wants account deleting, and posts. A member has come up to me on MSN saying she wants her account deleted, and all her posts deleted. (there is about 1,700 posts) She says she wants to make a fresh start, without the internet. I really don't want to do it, but the member is extremely annoyed i won't saying the posts belong to her. what should i do :/

| Ban her so she can't see if they're there or not  Hmm but I'm not sure, if you're using vBulletin can't you Soft Delete the posts then restore them when she's gone? That might take a while though... |

| Just let her know that you cannot and will not do it. When she posted them the posts became your property.

 | Just restrict her account and be done with it. She can't order you to remove her account or posts.

| Post and threads are property of your forum, unless copyrighted. I would not remove them and I would suspend their account for now, you never know they may come back. The only way I would delete them is if they got a court order to.

| Why not just change her name, so the post are not reflective or her (if you want to be sensitive to her request). And if there are a few post that identify who she is, delete those few... Otherwise... like everyone has said... just restrict the account and be done with it... but I personally would offer my first suggestion myself.

 | I have had issues on other forums as a moderator. I did not have my own site yet. I had a lot of drama that got very ugly, very fast. So bad that it divided a few sites that I modded at to choose sides. I had to request to be deleted as a user on one site. The Admin/Owner complied and removed me. I have to say I was so happy that he did this because I no longer wanted to be associated with his sad site. He lost a lot of members all the sites did. Now that I have my own site I would gladly delete any user that made that request. I would not even ask why. I could not care, if the member asked for it, it is for a reason and I would comply no if's ands or but's. Inescia.

| I wouldn't remove them. Ban her, she won't be able to see or come back and everyone wins.
