![]() | I don't agree with this Have any of you heard of "bot master . net" and their product "XRumer". Basically it is a bot that registers at forums and SPAMs any given message. I believe one of my forums have had this bot come many many times from multiple people. I am getting tired of banning and deleting threads, I can't just ban the ip address because it is diferent everytime. Anyway do feel this is a good tool to advertise your website? Would you use this product. I feel it might have some benefit, if what the bot was posting was a quality post, but the ones that have been on my forum are out right SPAM, with tons of links and sometimes inappropriate websites (like porn).

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | I certainly would not use this product. 1) I'm a forum admin myself. Even though I don't get bots, I do need to deal with spam. I also frequentley deal with the mess they make on another forum that I admin. 2) This product wouldn't be effective. The admin of the forum that it spammed would simply delete the message and ban the bot and it's IP. 3) Most users simply ignore these spam messages anyway. They know it's a bot and the only response they give is reporting the post to the forum's staff.

![]() ![]() | The situations is getting a lot worse lately and I see that softwares name mentioned a lot. I'm really getting tired of deleting total spam off some of my boards. What's annoying is that they don't always start new threads they put posts into other threads that can get missed which means their efforts will actually show some benefit and perpetuate the value of the program. I hope I'm not being too harsh when I say that people who created or use this software should be shot in the balls, along with the idiots who spam my email with viagra and penis enlargement mails.

![]() | I wouldn't use such a "tool" 1- I hate spambots on my forums 2- I would never join a forum if I found it advertised by a spammer 3- You forum might get a negative echo on other forums where eventually reported as spam |
