I delete bots, otherwise I don't delete them in case I ever need to refer back for any reason.

I delete permanent banned members account if they're bots or spammers. I don't delete members who have mischevious activity as they usually plead to come back by sending me e-mails.

Yes, I delete them after I've deleted all their posts. I don't maintain a Banned group level for that reason, since I don't have any. I ban their usernames, IP addresses and email addresses, delete any posts they made and then delete their accounts. Like they never were there to begin with!

Everyone else that has left for whatever reason just goes into my Inactive group, which has no more extra access than guests...

Nope, I don't delete anything. It comes in handy if you ever want to go back and look at something.

Actually, I've never deleted anyone, I've had to ban only a couple folks and they were pretty much lurkers who'd read my stuff and just email me all the time negative attitudes so I had to actually put a blocker on lurkers, it's either join and read my stuff and make posts there. That's what the forum is about to share ideas and have conversations.

Nope, I always keep their user account as a way to prevent bots of the same email address from registering again on my forums.

I delete them but not before taking down all their information. I have a section in the Admin/Staff forum where we keep a record of it all in case problem users come back to cause me crap..

When I delete them, I also prune all their posts as well - no posts with Guest messages left.

I usually delete them because the only people ive banned were spammers so i had to delete all there posts, they never posted anything helpful so it doesn't matter its not like if i delete their user names their posts will be messed up (did that make sense?)
Yes, I delete the members who I ban. Their posts remain as guest posts.

No - for the simple reason that vB sets a presistent cookie to keep banned members away, which is pretty effective. Also, their email and IP remain banned. For users who request for their account to be deleted [only one, a mod who didn't like a few extra Adsense ads because "his customers were complaining - he posted his articles and linked to them], I simply edit their email to stop them getting any messages from us [incl. password reminders], and change their password, effectively locking them out, but to the average Joe user, it's just a dormant member.
For the spammers who get banned, I just remove their posts [if they keep re-registering etc, censor their URL - very effective].
