i think that as soon as you let the members control the forum and dictate what you do, you have lost control. the fact of the matter is, if you don't want to let anyone over the age of 25 post, you don't have to let them. If you want only brown haired girls to have authority to start threads that is your perogitive as site owner. If you have a solid forum you should be able to see the thread and say "see ya" and ban them and it won't continue. If they want to start a big drama fest and you dont want it to be on your site, let them post it, say see ya, close the thread and ban them. or just close the thread and it will stop the discussion.

people who carry on about member "rights" blow my f'ing mind. There is no one person who carries a forum except for the owner. people come and people go. once you allow someone to have the power of asking them to come back or start some kind of issue with the site and make idle threats you have lost some of your power to control the site and given them and others like them more balls to do it in the future

Wow this is great to hear, I am always so worried about hurting my members that I have been walked on kicked, trashed and disrespected by so many members it is unreal. They always go to another forum and Bash me and how I am a Nazi or Terrorist and rule by fear and how I am horrible because I remove threads out of view blah blah blah.

I even had a whole blog about me full of lies and all sort of bashing. I sure hope it gets better LOL I have been trying to be more of a stickler of the rules.
