why do you need admin permissions to moderate? Just tell him what happened, accept the mod spot and I am sure that within a few weeks he will promote you back if you work well as a moderator.

Did he do it on your own forums? un-admin you? I am a little confused.

If he was an admin on one of my sites, I would disable his permissions and think about cutting ties with him/her. If they are going to pull something like this over something petty, imagine what could happen f you really get in to it.

I think he means that his friend, the main admin, un-admined him because someone hacked his (Soundboy's) account. The main admin then asks Soundboy to install a modification, but he can't because he isn't an admin. Right?

If that's the case, just tell the friend that you need administrative access. If he gives you any more trouble, don't worry about it.

I just love cases where admins don't get along...

Sounds pretty simple...you tell him you need admin access. If he says no, then you don't mod the forums. I assume that when you say "mod" you mean install a modification, not moderate. You don't need admin access to moderate a forum
