Hey guys, I'm on a forum which had some problems with members behaviours' but now it's a mess.
In the feedback area members are trying their best to ruin the forum by attacking the Administration and the way they administrate the forum. They posted some nasty images about the forum owners and they are calling members to attack everything they do.
The whole problem started with the calendar. The feature is disable for members (adding events to the calendar) and now it's like 10 pages on the topic calling bad names to administration, breaking the rules and telling lies to the rest of the members.
The sad is that episode was started by the former staff who noticed that they couldn't do the same stuff that as a moderator they could (pinned topics, move topics, etc).
The situation is out of control and whatever the Administrators do is worse.
In your opinion, what can they do?
I'm on the staff and I've never read so offensive words, in a forum, about myself.

Ban the offending members and make it as difficult as possible for them to make another account.

i agree with Adam that is realy the only way you can get round it.

You need to ban some members and delete posts and topics, in short term this might result in loss in member count and traffic, but things should be back to normal in a month or so.

Agreed, ban the trouble members, and clean up the mess they have created. If the majority of the members are trouble members, well, the admins went wrong somewhere and the forum might be a lost cause.

Nobody post there anymore. Only the trouble members.. in onr thread.. If the Administration reply then it's a caos, if not it's a caos anyway.
Closing the forum would be a bad decision no? Even if it was for cleaning and revamping it?

If all of the members are trouble members, then why are the forums open?

Of course you need to close it...If you want the forums to continue, you need to close them, ban the trouble members, delete their bad posts, and reopen the forum...You may be better off starting over again.

Not all.. The trouble members are about 10.. then there are few active members and a huge number of inactive members.

Then, probably, it won't be a bad idea if we close it. Everyone is tired of that forum.. Members don't know how to behave and they keep comparing the forum with other forums..

I really don't know what to do.. The forum is online for almost 4years.. it's almost a part of my life.
