I get absolutely no spam registration via bots anymore with this modification added. And I don't use email verification either.

This add-on is great. Props to BamaStangGuy for pointing it out to me long ago

AlcoholReport, despite its size, really doesn't get any spambots. I use a simple captcha and no email verification.

We used to get upwards of 3-5 per week here at AF...sometimes as many as 3-5 in one day. Now with NoSpam!, 3-5 in a month would be considered a bad month.

I have an older version of it running on the baby site and still get the contact us spam... we dont get spam members often though..



for those who have not seen the contact us spam, its ANNOYING to say the least. It comes through the webform, so it looks like any other email.. the only saving grace is most have unusual "usernames" like aristotle etc..
They usually use the subject " site feedback" but have used others..
When you open them they say

cool!!!
or
sorry
or interesting!

then there are just tons of links to whatever


on the bigger site, we validate every account, so we dont have this the mod installed.. if it works on the email spam, that alone is reason enough to install it.. we get anywhere from 5-30 of those a day lately..
