Your editing style

How do you go about editing posts? Do you just silently make changes, or do you leave reasons? If so, how. Anything else unique about your style?

Usually I either enter a reason or I actually leave a note in the post. I don't want the member embarrassed but at the same time I want them to notice the change.

I leave a note in the post usually, however, for the spammers, the goal IS to embarrass them.

Here is an example of how I deal with them:

Why even keep the post there? Why not rid it completely?

I understand, but here's the thing, since locked threads are regularly pruned anyway, I thought I'd have a little fun. My members certainly appreciated the laugh.

Yeah, its one thing to do stuff like that to trolls and spambots but for regular members who break a rule you shouldn't embarrass them in front of everyone, it might make them not want to come back.
