What would you do if you knew of another forum owner/admin who was stealing all your forum names/categories/descriptions .. just copying/pasting what you have done and using it on their board..

For example:
[Mine]: Jaded Souls - A Haven For Creative Chaos

- vs -

[His]: www.off-topic-forums.com - Powered by vBulletin

See any similarities?

** [Back Story]: This forum owner/admin used to be a member of my site and I *used* to be his admin but was stripped of the title and deleted for not taking his side on an inane issue -- he has since tried to get me to return [No doubt to be the site b**ch again] but after the barrage of profanities, insults, etc. (none of which was provoked), and constant IM messages (each were blocked but a new AIM name was used each time the old one was blocked), and emails, I'm out for good.

He started the copy/pasting from my site while I was still an admin on his. He said that because I had a system that worked, he figured he could use it on his even after I told him he should change the names to be more original **

Well is there a mod which means that they cant view the board sunless registered so if he tries to steal material u can get him done because it states in your agreement thing that all material posted on or within your site/forum is copyrighted to your site and then you can have him done that way?

There's really not much that you can do. Don't let it bother you though...Category structure is not going to make his forum succeed and also not going to cause yours to fail. There is much more involved in that.

I'd just ignore it...if anything, let it fuel your fire to out-do him

Oh I know there's not much I can do and I try not to let it bother me but when I go out of my way to bust my ass for my site only to have him do a mirror image of it? Knocks the wind out of my sails sometimes..

I would have it so only Registered Users can even view the board but most people would shy away from registering from a board if they can't see any content..

Ah well, I gots to be the bigger person here somehow!

There's no way on god's green earth he would. He's a perfectionist and as such, deletes all the threads almost on weekly basis, much to the chagrin of his userbase.. yet, they keep going back..
