They made it sound like they lived together or something, I wasn't under the impression that it was a public computer. Plus the opposites were almost too obvious, one was Catholic, the other atheist, one right-wing, the other left-wing, etc..

I suppose. She had always been a been pretty controversial in her discussions and might have been warned once or twice but I don't really get what the point of this whole thing was.

I'm slightly amused by the answers given.

In MY house I make the rules. If I boot one guy who he has red hair but keep a chic with red hair that's MY business, I pay the bills NOT my members.

You have to make a decision and reap the consequences. You can't please everyone.

All i can say is i wouldn't want to be a member of a board that you run...You can't just boot any member for no reason as thats just bad admining. You may pay the bills, but who contributes to your forum...oh wait eermm..Members..

Thanks for your response.

I'll run my forum My way, you run yours Your way.

The internet is a big place, no need to butt heads over it.

Negative.

(I m not trying to create a confrontation here .. at all)

I don't ban simply for a laugh.

My point was that I will not lose one second of sleep over a single member. I don't run my site to make money, its little more than a diversion of thought for me.

All I was saying is as an OWNER of a site one must make the decisions that are right for them. If an Admin wants to pander to the lowest common denominator in order to keep a high member count that's his business. If another Admin wants to regulate his forum as if he were being over watched by the KGB that's his business as well.

I don't know what the average member here does with their site, and perhaps I should have followed the golden rule of lurk for x weeks prior to saying anything, but the subject got the better of my normal wait policy.

I have a high standard with my forum .. so high in fact that every time I go to publish it I second guess myself and stop.

Most likely it will be just me and myself as an Alt chatting back and forth.

Well I've got another interesting situation for you all. This one is even better than before, for the lulz at least.

So we've got one member who has always been an oddball. Recently someone joined who has a very similar writing style as this member. They introduced themself as knowing the first member from work. They also claimed to be a professional wrestler who they named. The new member made a thread saying a family member recently died, but it wasn't very serious, certainly didn't make me believe them. And for some reason they gave the first members contact info in the thread instead of their own.

Also the first member had claimed to move but her IPs didn't match the state she said she moved to, and one of her IPs matched the lone IP of the new member. I don't think a pro wrestler is going to make a thread complaining about something on a star wars gaming forum. And also they both spelled "Mozzila" wrong in their profile. I don't want to get in to much more detail than this for obvious confidentiality reasons but I just thought this was too weird.
