Unhappy Member donates, goes straight to flaming!

Some of you older members may remember I thread I did about problematic donating members, it's here, if you wish to read it: http://www.adminfusion.com/forums/t17508/

Anyway, back on topic. I have just had a member donate £50 (approx $100) and proceed to the nearest thread and start a massive argument with slight racial insults. The member has NEVER done that before, I suspect it may be one of these I donated alot, I'm above the rules I get more chances.

How should I respond to this

(P.S, sorry if I should have bumped my old topic, I wasn't sure what to do )

he's been a member, he's donated, a donation can NOT buy favoritism. plain and simple.

tell him his donation does not protect him from the ban hammer. and donations are NOT refundable. I would never, ever, ever, refund a donation with these circumstances.

Yup. You smack him with the same repercussions that you would hit any member with.

I agree with Larry and Caddyman but maybe speak to him and ask what the problem is. I mean, people who donate are few and far between so it's worth handling this case with some gentle questioning rather than outright telling off.

Before you ban him, you should give an infraction and speak to him first.

The bolded piece above for me tells me this person gets not talking no nothing. They get the exact same results as anyone else. I'm sorry I don't care who you are. You use racial insults of any kind and you are gone. Period.

I agree with most of what has been said. Treat him like you would any other member in these situations.

Agreed with everybody else - Treat this person just as you would anybody else.

It's one thing if the member has been around a long time and is well-respected...but a spur of the moment donation by the average member followed by racial slurs calls for the normal penalties. Depending on the severity, it could be an immediate ban/suspension

Like they said, but also make it clear in the future on your donation page that those that do donate are still subject to all normal forum rules so there can't be any confusion.
