Insistent banned member

Hello, sorry for not posting for such a long time

I have a bit of a problem at my forum. A while ago, a member registered, and got banned for repeatedly posting threads and posts with links to his site (which was in the same domain as mine). He made 3 more accounts, we banned all of them.

That was a few months ago. 2 weeks ago, he re-registered, but I did not suspect him of anything, but I saw that he used the same email, I got suspicious. Then he repeated the trick, trying to blame newbie naivity for not knowing that it's not allowed to post links directly to a site, for the purpose of joining it.

I warned him, and I thought it would be best to be more lenient, since it's Christmas. He started picking on the admins yesterday, and I told him, if he continues with this attitude he will get banned on this account, and instant on any other acc. He came up and said something like "So what, I have a dynamic IP and I can come back whenever I want."

So,what I'd like to know now: should I leave him, or should I ban him? Is there a way to ban dynamic ips?

Alot of the time a users IP is only dynamic to a certain extent, for example, my current IP at the time of posting is: 90.203.49.84

That is a dynamic IP, BUT is only dynamic in the last two parts. So my IP can change to 90.203.37.37, or 90.203.38.38. If someone was to want me gone, they could try a subnet ban. This bans ALL IPs from the 90.203.*.* range. (Where * is wildcard and is ANY figure) You could try looking at this members posts, and see if his IP is totally dynamic, or only dynamic to a subnettable extent, like my own. If you want help subnet banning a person, just ask

Just ban his website i.e. the name of his site would be censored and it would come up as ****, which would defeat his main purpose of joining your site.

Hihi. Already done that
What disturbs me the most is his "so what, I'll be back" attitude. And handling it.

He doesn't only join to make people visit his site, he posts (relatively) normal. Just that I'm very bothered of his rebel wannabe-ness.

Ban ban ban. Just keep banning him, he'll give up eventually. And like Jolteon said, if none of your other users share his IP address, ban that entire range. Also ban the email address you said he used twice.

I agree, if he won't stop spamming your forum then its time to spam the hell out of his forum. There is no question of being good or bad, its all business
