Had to ban member today...

... and my butt is not numb and I don't feel like throwing up! I'm getting better at this!

It was sort of the usual:

Member starts thread
Member gets responses member was not expecting
Member decides to be rude and a bit ugly in responses
thread is closed
Member stops posting but lurks for about a month or so. Like we can't see her on invisible? Silly member.
Member decides to come out of the shadows
Member makes crude comment regarding the membership in reference to previous thread
Member is warned about language and respect to posters
Member goes off, declares admin to be on power trip, says admin has a lot of NERVE, says she will post however she wants to, then declares she is leaving again
Member posts 'goodbye cruel world' thread
Thread is closed, moved, member removed from forums.
Bye bye.

I'm not playing this year.

I think its fun to ban members like that, way better feeling than banning spambots and the like. gj

I grudgingly installed that hack and have used it a couple of times. The people I had on it were moved to the banned members list eventually. I find it passive aggressive. If I want you gone, you are gone. And if you say you're leaving, leave. No need for a dramatic attention whore 'beg me to stay' moment. OUT.

This is why i don't register on forums anymore, "Admin's" banning because of a bit of language, i find it funny when people ban because of a comment..oh a bit of a swear? who cares..lol?

i think the issue was respect to posters and staff, not so much the language.

i could be wrong though

Exactly, Caddyman. We don't have a bad words filter. We use adult language all day everyday, so it certainly wasn't over a swear. When I say language I guess I mean the terms she was using in her posts. Most were offensive, the last was crude, insulting, and offensive. When I spoke to her about it she told me what she thought of me (she doesn't think highly of me), said she was leaving again, and then proceeded to draw the entire forum into it, which is against guidelines.

I closed the thread and helped her out the door.
