| I have a troll.  it's such a long story but I think I know who it is. I get emails every once in a while from someone taunting me about the board, because I removed his girlfriend. We are closed board, women only, and she let him read our stuff. Had to let her go. One of our members is having a difficult family situation. SHe posted about it. We're closed, so strictest of confidence. "Someone" was on our board, copied what she wrote about family issues and sent it to her brother, who she posted about. I'm so irritated, it's about teh stupidest most childish thing EVER!!  | ||||

| Yes that is cause for banning. we are a closed private forum. What happens on our board stays on our board. He would have had to eitehr hack the forum and get in, or use someone else's account. Is there anyway to trace people's activities online? I think he used someone else's account. | ||||

| Miss Moke, I would suggest you tell your troll to back off. If you can, get his IP and if he doesn't stop, report him to his ISP. In all my time as a moderator, this has only been done once, but the misbehaviour stopped instantly. Quote:

| hmm im not really sure sorry  to bad you cant make it so that they have to have the IP address that they used when they registered.. actually how do they join do you have to view each account they register with? or what | ||||

If so, check his IP...if you're lucky, he will only have one IP or a list of similar IP's, and if you're even more lucky, he wont be smart enough to know how to get around an IP ban. I thought you banned the girl...right? Can you forums be read by guests? Have you banned her IP(s) as well? Reporting stuff like this to his ISP won't get you anywhere - they don't care. | ||||

| She's completely removed and we are closed to guests. He would have had to sign on. He and his gf are members of another board... as is his sister. My thought is someone who is a member of both boards either let him in, or got in and copied information to send to him. Stranger than that, one of my members has been getting interesting prank calls. We had a contact thread up, and removed it after she posted about that. gawd I wish I had the time and space to tell this story it's so ridiculously salacious... | ||||
