| Promotionwise, I think the worst way to advertise a forum is to junk up Inboxs, sayboxs and other forum threads with just your URL, nothing will turn me off a site faster than seeing that done. Another bad promotional technique is to force all of your members to aquire 5 to 10 refferals before you let them modify their user profiles, that's just wrong.

Posts: n/a | Sending e-mails or PMs to members of other boards (covering the same subject) advertising your forum. Hacking into another board then redirecting every forum link to your site(-_-). Signing up for adwords (or any other system like it), and defaming annother site in your discription. Paying members not to register or even visit another board.... | ||||

| I would say spam(worthless topics ect) and flame(swearing,cussing ect) that puts me off instantly and when there is a shout box and people say"Awesome site u got here...Check my one out" that is spam in a say box u could say....and also when u get to a certain post count...u can only acsse a fourm or anything like that....and where u get a link but it says when the page loads"U currently a guest...why not join our friendly member/staff site"and how do u get memebers like that?....i mean people must see what they joining

Creating a virus with a "Sponsored By" your site message popping up 70 times in 5 seconds Hijacking a plane and demaning 3500 people register on your forum, or you'll start killing off passangers after an hour. Getting it endorsed by the KKK. Making the nightly news when being arrested for distribution of kiddie porn on your forum. (Hope these didn't offend anyone, as they were intended whimsically) | ||||
